A 17-member delegation of leading UK technology<\/a> companies specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) <\/a>and semiconductors will visit Kolkata <\/a>on November 18 and 19. This marks the United Kingdom\u2019s first-ever trade mission to the city, focusing exclusively on the burgeoning technology sector in eastern India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation, organized by the British Deputy<\/a> High Commission in Kolkata<\/a>, aims to explore business opportunities and foster collaborations with Indian stakeholders<\/a> in West Bengal and the broader eastern region. The visit includes companies such as Airnode<\/a>, Inavya Ventures, VE3, Wootzano, and Pragmatic Semiconductor, among others. These firms represent expertise not only in AI<\/a> and semiconductors but also in advanced robotics, data privacy management, legal tech, and venture investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Andrew Fleming<\/a>, the British Deputy High Commissioner to East and Northeast India<\/a>, highlighted the significance of the visit, saying, \u201cThis visit underscores the growing relationship between the UK and India <\/a>in the tech space, especially in the East and Northeast India. Interactions with state governments and industry leaders will foster new partnerships and strengthen collaboration with the AI<\/a> and semiconductor industries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation\u2019s visit will feature a series of events organized in collaboration with Nasscom<\/a> and Asterix Innovations. Activities include roundtable discussions, business-to-business meetings, and networking sessions aimed at identifying opportunities for research, innovation, and investment. A tour of Kolkata\u2019s Silicon Valley Hub<\/a> is also planned, showcasing the state\u2019s existing and upcoming IT infrastructure<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
