In a surprising announcement, acclaimed actor Vikrant Massey <\/a>declared on December 1 that he is taking a hiatus from films, leaving fans<\/a> and the industry shocked. The actor shared a heartfelt post on Instagram<\/a>, expressing gratitude for the support he has received throughout his career and explaining his decision to step away from the spotlight to focus on his personal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe last few years <\/a>and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support,\u201d Massey wrote. He continued, \u201cAs I move forward, I realise it\u2019s time to recalibrate and return home\u2014as a husband, father, & son. And also as an actor<\/a>. So, in 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his post, Massey revealed that he has two films left to release\u2014Yaar Jigri<\/em> and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyaan<\/em>\u2014marking the conclusion of his current cinematic journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement comes at the peak of Massey\u2019s career. The actor recently received the prestigious Indian Film Personality of the Year award at the International Film Festival of India<\/a> (IFFI) in Goa. His portrayal of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma in Vidhu Vinod Chopra\u2019s 12th Fail<\/em> garnered widespread acclaim, with the film becoming a major hit in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massey\u2019s subsequent releases, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba<\/em> and The Sabarmati Report<\/em>, further solidified his reputation as a versatile actor. Notably, The Sabarmati Report<\/a><\/em>, a film centred on the Godhra train incident, received critical acclaim and was declared tax-free in several states.
