Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang <\/a>flagged off the state\u2019s contingent for Nagaland\u2019s Hornbill Festival 2024 from Ridge Park, Gangtok<\/a>, on Friday. As a Partner State for the 25th edition, Sikkim\u2019s participation highlights cultural unity and shared northeastern heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contingent includes SHGs, bikers, a car rally team, media personnel, and officials from Tourism, Culture, and Commerce & Industries departments. Social organizations will also showcase Sikkim\u2019s unique traditions and crafts during the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the flag-off ceremony, Chief Minister Tamang expressed pride in collaborating with Nagaland<\/a>, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange in fostering regional unity. He praised the Hornbill Festival\u2019s global reputation as a platform for celebrating the Northeast\u2019s vibrant traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nagaland\u2019s Chief Secretary Dr. J Alam said the 25th edition, marking the festival\u2019s silver jubilee, has gained national and international acclaim since its 2000 inception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set at Kisama Heritage Village, the Hornbill Festival<\/a> celebrates the diversity of northeastern states. Sikkim\u2019s role as a Partner State strengthens ties between the two regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dubbed the \u201cFestival of Festivals,\u201d it is one of India\u2019s premier cultural events, featuring traditional music, dance, art, and cuisine. Sikkim\u2019s involvement underscores its commitment to cultural promotion and regional cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CM Tamang extended his best wishes to the contingent, underscoring the festival\u2019s significance in uniting diverse communities and boosting tourism.
