Sikkim Woman Breaks Her Silence On Delhi Assault And Police Pressure, Calls For Fair Investigation

Date:

Sikkim | August 2025:
A young woman from Sikkim has come forward with serious allegations of molestation, physical assault, and police pressure after attending a private birthday party in Delhi’s Safdarjung area on August 10. The case came to public attention when she shared an emotional video online, which quickly went viral but was later deleted — reportedly under pressure.

The matter has since been further reported in detail by Sikkim Express, which interviewed the woman after her return to Sikkim. In the interview, the survivor alleged that during the party, she was touched inappropriately by an unknown man. When she resisted, she was physically assaulted by multiple individuals present at the venue, resulting in visible bruises and injuries on her shoulders, arms, and face.

According to her account, she attempted to seek help through various emergency helplines, but by the time assistance arrived, the establishment had closed, and the accused had fled. She then approached the Safdarjung Police Station to file a complaint, where she claims she was made to wait outside for hours and eventually pressured not to register an FIR.

She further alleged that she was later persuaded by individuals present at the police station, including a legal representative, to sign a compromise letter — a move she says was made under emotional distress and fear. She also claimed she was told to delete her original video and record a new one, falsely stating that she was satisfied with the police response.

In a later development, another advocate reportedly contacted the woman and acknowledged that forcing her into a compromise was wrong. The second advocate also assured her that the case could be reopened and pursued through proper legal channels.

The woman has since returned to Sikkim and expressed her desire to reopen the case. She maintains that the initial compromise was made under pressure and does not reflect her true intention.

This case has sparked public discussion around the safety and treatment of women from the Northeast living in major cities. While the survivor has chosen to protect her identity, she continues to call for a fair and transparent investigation into the matter.
