The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results for the Class 12 and 10 examinations for 2024, revealing a pass percentage of 87.98% and 93.60% respectively. As students eagerly awaited their results, social media platforms witnessed a surge of humorous memes and reactions, ranging from GIFs capturing the shock of unexpected outcomes to jokes about less-than-ideal marks.
Amidst the laughter, statistics revealed that more than 24,000 Class 12 students scored above 95%, with over 1.16 lakh securing marks above 90%. Impressively, a total of 1,84,17 schools participated in the Class 12 board examinations across 7,126 centers, with the Trivandrum region recording the highest pass percentage at 99.91%. The pass percentage for girls stood at 91.52%, while for boys, it was 85.12%.
Similarly, in Class 10, over 47,000 students achieved marks exceeding 95%, while more than 2 lakh scored above 90%. The Trivandrum region again showcased excellence with a pass rate of 99.75%, while the lowest pass percentage was recorded in Guwahati at 77.94%. Notably, the Delhi region witnessed an overall pass percentage of 98.61%.
Additionally, the CBSE Class 12 exams saw a total of 14,26,420 students passing out of 16,21,224 who appeared. The exams were conducted from February 15 to April 2, while the Class 10 board exams were held between February 15 and March 13 in a pen-and-paper mode.
While the overall pass percentage for Class 12 witnessed a slight dip from the previous year, the board noted an increase from the pre-pandemic years, with 2022 recording an overall pass percentage of 92.71%.
