Sikkim’s cricket sensation, Nilesh Lamichaney, has etched his name in history once again by delivering a stellar performance overseas. Representing the Barnoldswick Cricket Club in England’s NCWL Championship, Lamichaney recently achieved a remarkable feat by scoring a century, marking his debut in international cricket.
The Sikkim Cricket Association wasted no time in extending their heartfelt congratulations to Lamichaney for this significant milestone. They emphasized Lamichaney’s pivotal role in Sikkim’s cricket journey, particularly highlighting his leadership and exemplary performance in the Ranji Trophy and the senior men’s team.
Lamichaney’s cricket journey has been nothing short of remarkable. He made headlines with his List A debut for Sikkim during the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he was appointed captain, showcasing his leadership prowess from the get-go. Notably, in just his second match, he became the first Sikkimese player to smash a century, scoring 123 runs against Arunachal Pradesh.
Since then, Lamichaney has continued to leave a lasting impression, making his mark in first-class cricket during the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy and in Twenty20 cricket during the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
