Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian died in a helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan province on Sunday, Iranian state media reported. The helicopter disappeared over a foggy, mountainous region, and all passengers were found dead upon discovery of the wreckage.

His contributions to strengthening India-Iran bilateral ties will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family and the people of Iran. India stands with Iran in this time of sorrow.”
