Sikkim Student Subjected to Caste-Based Abuse, Perpetrator in Custody

A Class 9 student was reportedly assaulted by an individual in a rented room, with caste-based slurs and physical violence involved. The attacker is said to have burned the victim’s hand with a cigarette during the assault.

According to police, the accused has been apprehended and is currently in custody at Singtam Police Station. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.
