Darjeeling’s Sai Shreya Bhandari Wins Three Sub-Titles At Ms Nova Cosmo Worldwide 2025

Date:

Darjeeling is celebrating the international success of Sai Shreya Bhandari, who represented India at the Ms Nova Cosmo Worldwide 2025 pageant held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from December 3 to 8. The 20-year-old, who earlier won the Ms Nova Cosmo India title, excelled on the global stage, winning the Social Media Queen, Creative Queen, and Director’s Choice sub-titles.

Speaking from Delhi after her return, Sai Shreya expressed her delight: “I am pleased with the results. What makes me even happier is that my parents are proud of me.” Her family and residents of Pubung Basti are organizing a grand welcome for her today.

Despite being the youngest participant and standing at 5 feet 2 inches—the shortest contestant—Sai Shreya described the experience as transformative. She highlighted the supportive environment of the pageant: “The support among participants was wonderful – women helping women.”

A proud moment came during the national costume round, where she showcased her Nepali ethnicity for the first time in the pageant for India, blending Dhaka prints with a traditional Indian ghagra choli.

Looking ahead, Sai Shreya plans to attend events organized by The Great Pageant Community and focus on her social advocacy project, digital dignity, supporting women who face online harassment and abuse. She also plans to contribute to Nova Cosmo’s online promotions and is considering pursuing an MA in Journalism.

Reflecting on not winning the main crown, Sai Shreya said she values the personal growth, confidence, and experiences she gained from the international stage.
