Sikkim School Molestation Case Unveiled: 12 Students Speak Out Against Teacher’s Abuse

In a disturbing incident in Sikkim’s Soreng district, a language instructor at a government school stands accused of molesting 12 female students aged 8-14. The school received a complaint on May 8, leading to the filing of an FIR on May 10.

The police report details how the students disclosed enduring physical abuse by the teacher over a prolonged period. The accused instructor, identified as DB Tamang, had been hired just three months prior and was part of a recent teacher regularization initiative.

Following the complaint, the teacher was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The case has sparked outrage and raised concerns about child safety in educational institutions. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the alleged misconduct.
