Displaced Bhusuk Families Seek Land Compensation from Revenue Secretary

Date:

A delegation of 149 displaced families from Bhusuk, displaced due to the Army land acquisition in 1978-79, met with the Secretary of the Land Revenue Department on December 9 to seek a resolution to their long-standing compensation claims.

Accompanied by Shri Tenzing Norbu Lamtha, MLA of 23 Syari Constituency, the families highlighted the urgent need to address their decades-old struggle. The meeting aimed to ensure swift action on their demands.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has shown strong support by directing the relevant departments to take prompt action. “The Chief Minister has shown genuine concern for the displaced families and their plight. His intervention has instilled hope among the affected families,” said Lamtha.

The families expressed their gratitude for the Chief Minister’s proactive role. “We are truly thankful for his initiative and the steps being taken to resolve our issues,” said one of the representatives.

This meeting signifies the Sikkim government’s commitment to addressing citizens’ grievances. The collaborative efforts of the MLA, Chief Minister, and the Land Revenue Department aim to bring a fair resolution to the displaced families’ demands.

The families remain hopeful that these efforts will lead to a fair and timely conclusion to their long-standing issue.
