The final, held in front of an enthusiastic crowd and notable dignitaries, ended 0-0 after regulation and extra time. The event concluded with Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Golay presenting the winners’ and runners-up trophies during a vibrant closing ceremony.
The penalty shootout showcased NEUFC’s composure under pressure, with their goalkeeper emerging as the hero after saving two crucial attempts. GHSC missed two penalties, falling short despite their commendable effort throughout the tournament.
“This victory is a testament to the team’s resilience and composure under pressure,” said Chief Minister Golay in a congratulatory statement. He also praised the runners-up, stating, “Gangtok Himalayan SC displayed outstanding sportsmanship and dedication, and their journey to the finals will inspire many young footballers.”

The tournament featured 16 teams, including international clubs from Nepal, Bhutan, Malaysia, and Dubai, bringing a global flavor to the competition. The event marked a significant return after a four-year hiatus, with the last edition won by Mohammedan SC of Kolkata in 2019.
