The Sikkim Premier League’s promoters, Football Development Pvt. Ltd., who also attended the unveiling of the official logo, held a meeting (SPL). At his official mansion in Mintokgang on Sunday, Chief Minister PS Tamang summoned the board of eminent national and international players.
The conference included a thorough discussion of the plans and current situation for organising the SPL the following year with the help of the Sikkim government and Teesta Urja Ltd.
The committee was advised by the chief minister to work with the department of sports, senior ex-footballers, Teesta Urja Ltd, seasoned athletes, and various sports organisations.
International footballers who are also board members of Football Development Pvt Ltd, such as Nirmal Chettri, Sanju Pradhan, Bikash Jairu, Robin Gurung, and Nim Tshering Lepcha, were present at the meeting. Along with the official match ball and T-shirt, PS Tamang released the official logo.

The goal of SPL is to increase sports participation and empower local kids. The SPL will debut at the start of the new year with the slogan “Together For Sikkim Football.” Eight teams representing six districts will compete at two locations.
There are two teams each from the districts of Gangtok and Namchi, as well as one team from each of the other four districts, in order to create a competitive league. The league is anticipated to be entertaining and give young people the chance to identify themselves as players at the state and national levels in the future.
The Chief Minister claims that the SPL is not just a football competition but a platform for young people to pursue their professional objectives. Using the example of European and American football clubs, the Chief Minister of Sikkim has urged local youths to adopt a competitive mindset.
