Siliguri Strikers Bring in Akash Deep and Priyanka Bala for Bengal Pro T2O League

Date:

Siliguri Strikers have announced their players for the upcoming Bengal Pro T20 League. Akash Deep and Priyanka Bala, both prominent cricketers, are set to represent the team in this highly anticipated tournament starting June 11 at Eden Gardens.

Akash Deep, a 27-year-old pace bowler, gained attention after dismissing England’s top order in the fourth Test match in February 2024. His performance included key wickets of Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, and Ollie Pope, giving India a strong start. Following his success in the Test series, Akash Deep played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and took a wicket in the match against Mumbai Indians.

On the other hand, Priyanka Bala, a 28-year-old cricketer, showcased her talent in the Women’s IPL. Playing for the Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024, she scored 19 runs off 18 balls in a match against RCB in Delhi. Her impressive performance has earned her a spot as a marquee player for the Siliguri Strikers women’s team.

The Bengal Pro T20 League, featuring eight franchise teams in both men’s and women’s categories, will take place over 18 days, from June 11 to June 28. Siliguri Strikers will represent regions including Siliguri, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, and Kalimpong.

Rishabh Bhatia, Marketing Head of Servotech Power Systems Ltd, expressed confidence in the team’s prospects. “Having experienced players like Akash Deep and Priyanka Bala as part of our team, we are confident that the team will reach greater heights,” he stated in a release from the Siliguri Strikers.

Both players bring a wealth of experience and energy to the Siliguri Strikers as they prepare to compete in the Bengal Pro T20 League, promising an exciting season for fans and the team alike.
