Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed confidence in the state’s economic prospects after a productive meeting with a delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in New Delhi. The delegation presented a vision to position Sikkim as a prominent investment hub, emphasising innovative ideas aimed at generating employment opportunities, particularly for the state’s youth.
In a post on his social media page, Tamang described the meeting as an encouraging step for the state’s development. “Earlier today I met the delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi. They presented an inspiring vision for developing Sikkim as a premier investment destination with innovative ideas aimed at creating and enhancing employment opportunities for the youth of our state,” he said.
The Chief Minister extended an invitation to the PHDCCI delegation to visit Sikkim for further discussions and to present a more comprehensive plan tailored to the state’s specific needs. “Encouraged by their proposal, I have extended an invitation for them to visit Sikkim to deliver a more detailed, comprehensive, state-specific, and holistic presentation and engage in discussions to chart a roadmap for the future,” Tamang added.
The proposed collaboration aims to focus on sustainable growth, youth empowerment, and a clear roadmap for development that aligns with the state’s economic aspirations. According to Tamang, the delegation’s vision aligns with Sikkim’s long-term goals and would play a crucial role in shaping the state’s future.
Sikkim, known for its pristine environment and unique tourism appeal, has been exploring new avenues for economic growth, particularly in sectors like renewable energy, education, and technology. The collaboration with the PHDCCI is expected to bring new opportunities for investment and job creation, focusing on providing better prospects for the state’s youth.
