CM Meets Women’s Football Team Before Championship

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang met with the state’s Senior Women’s Football Team on December 8 to extend his best wishes and support as they prepare for the 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship for the Raj Mata Juabai Trophy 2024-25. The final round of the prestigious tournament is scheduled to begin on December 11 in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh.

The team, led by Head Coach Puspa Gurung and accompanied by senior officials, expressed enthusiasm about representing Sikkim at the national level. Addressing the gathering, CM Tamang expressed pride in their achievements and encouraged them to uphold sportsmanship and dedication throughout the competition.

“It was a pleasure to meet and interact with the team. I encourage them to continue exemplifying true sportsmanship and dedication. My best wishes are with them for their success in the championship,” said Tamang.

Known for his passion for sports, the Chief Minister assured the team of his full support as they gear up for the tournament. He also shared his sentiments on social media, stating: “Representing Sikkim in the prestigious 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship for the Raj Mata Juabai Trophy 2024-25, the team is set to compete in the final round in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, starting December 11, 2024. I extend my best wishes for their success and encourage them to continue exemplifying true sportsmanship and dedication.”

The senior women’s football team has showcased determination and commitment in their journey to the championship. Head Coach Puspa Gurung expressed confidence in the players’ abilities, highlighting their preparation and teamwork as key strengths in facing the competition.
